Dear Mrs. D.,
I don’t think Gray Wolves should be hunted because they were once an endangered species and hunting them may cause this problem again. Trapping is very cruel and should never be used.
Farmers should make better fences to keep the wolves out or they should use big dogs to chase them away.
D18,
You have a good point. Our society tends to forget that we have taken away their wilderness and natural resources. Perhaps someday someone will find a way for these animals to live freely and safely.
I think wolves should be hunted but I don’t want them to be killing them. I think there should be a rich orginazation where preditors like the wolf should be kept at a heathy envierment where they can’t kill animals and humans. They should be in a place where they can be protected from people who kill preditors.
Hi D14,
These wolves had that protection when they were listed on the endangered species list. Now that their population has grown some people feel that the gray wolf is no longer in danger of becoming extinct. There are definitely two sides to this situation. The farmers and ranchers also need to protect their animals from the gray wolves, but the gray wolves also need to survive by hunting other animals.
I think it is wrong that someone would what to hunt a beautiful creature such as the GRAY WOLF. If farmers are so woryed why not make a way to keep all types of creatures that could harm other barnyard creatures. Now that they are done helping that endangered creature they should now help another endangered creature in this wonderful blue orb we call earth!
I noticed that your comment puts the responsibility on the farmers to find a way to coexist with these beautiful creatures.
I think it is kind of wrong that the are setting this wonderful breed of animal free into the cold cruel wilderness. I know a lot about creatures and their environments that they live in . I watch Discovery channel and animal planet 24 7 . But most creatures in the animal kingdom are misunderstoud because we can not treat animals like a toy. They have feelings and likes and dislikes too. There I proved my point that animals are not MONSTERS like KING KONG OR WOLF MAN those are not what animals are really like. They are nice peaceful beings they do not what to harm us but we deserve it for doing what we did to them. There I have said what I had to say.
Dear Mrs. Drabyk,
I don’t think that Gray Wolves should be killed because then their species would decrease. It is very merciless to trap and kill them. Instead of hunting them the farmers and ranchers should protect the sheeps and cattle from them. They should construct a stone wall to keep the Gray Wolves away from the sheeps and cattle.
If we provide food and shelter to the Wolves then we wouldn’t have any problems with them and we can be safe.
D-1,
Wow, you really thought about solving this issue. The majority of the comments agree with your opinion as well. Most of the blog comments feel the humans should be more responsible in protecting their own animals so the gray wolves can continue to live a natural life in the wild.
Dear Miss Drabyk,
I think grey wolves should not be killed because we need to keep the animal cycle going. Instead you can put strong fences to keep them out. I am an animal lover, and want to preserve the ecosystem. Killing animals would ruin the natural habitats.
I think the wolves should stay on the list because wolves can sometimes protect us from other animals and I also thimk the populaion should stay up too, and I hope that hunters won’t hunt them anymore because they are good animals.
Dear D9,
I am all for endangered animals being protected. When reading your class blogs about wolves, it also made me think about eagles. Lists such as this protect and preserve and now we can spot eagles living naturally like the one along Carneige Lake in Princeton, NJ.
