The Secret Soldier

Our time as colonists is coming to an end and we now must return to the 21st Century. Before we say farewell to our colonists, take a moment to reflect on the experience and share your thoughts about the courage it took for these men and women to stand up to King George III. She wanted to be free from being a servant. She was a servant for 10 years. When she was free and she did not know what to do then she wanted to be a school teacher. She became a teacher and when she was finished she wanted to follow her dad’s dream. She became a soldier. Than she dressed like a man and she was in but than she got shot in the leg . The doctor found out she was a girl and that she dug out the bullet out of her leg herself and I guess tha hurt her a lot.

Deborah Sampson showed us that women could also fight for freedom during the Revolutionary War. She set out looking for adventure and found herself fighting for her life and the lives of the other soldiers. Deborah Sampson will also be remembered for being the brave soldier who was really a woman.
