Grade 4 music classes produce enhanced podcasts using their original music and lyrics, illustrated with photos. The students upload photos, record their original music and present final product to parents at end of year technology celebration.

Brooks Crossing Elementary

Students from Brooks Crossing Elementary 3rd grade studied constellations. The students researched a planet, drew pictures about their planet, and photographed these drawings and uploaded them to an enhanced podcast. They then recorded their voices reading their report while working in small teams.

Monmouth Junction Elementary

Students in grades 2 - 5 create enhanced podcasts, blogs and videos.

An enhanced podcast uses pictures, voice and music to portray a message in a small format. The students do research and write about a country, a personal story, or a time period, draw or download pictures, choose copyright free music and record their voices using Garageband software. Other classes use video creation software to create a similar project with pictures, voice and music to a full quality video.

Greenbrook Elementary

Grade 5 students use “stop-gap, time-lapse” videography to create very interesting short videos. These videos are collected and added to the teacher’s End of Year movie burned to DVD.

Indian Fields Elementary

Students in 3rd grade role-play the Ellis Island immigration experience. They write the scripts, perform rehearsed roles, and are interviewed as they enter “Ellis Island” by staff members portraying reporters. The entire process is filmed and burned to DVD by the 3rd grade teachers.

Brunswick Acres Elementary School

For three years, students from the 4th grade have integrated the creation of video projects while learning about poetry and undersea creatures. The undersea creature project required students to research, investigate and report on the creature of their choice; its habitat, food, predators and its offspring. They were required to create a 3D model and produce original artwork. This artwork was digitally photographed using built in iSight cameras of MacBook computers.
