Family Game Night - Double Digit Cover Up
This is a game we have played in class several times. The matierals to play the game include 100 chart, a die and many beans or elbow macroni’s to use a place holders. To play, decide the person who will go first. Roll the die. You may choose to use the digit in the form of a ten or a one. For instance, if you roll a 3 you may use it as 30 or 3. Your team is allowed to roll up to seven times but no more. The object is to beat the 100’s chart in covering it up with the 7 rolls. If you cover the board in 7 rolls you win. If you don’t the board wins. If you would like a variation to the game you may each have a hundred’s board and play against each other instead of the board. When you add to the blog this week, share whether you played against the board, or each other. Tell the strategy you used to win. When did you choose to use tens, when did you choose to use ones? Please find attached a copy of the hundreds chart. Have fun! 100-chart.pdf
The first game we played the board. At first a few of them we were using 10, towards the end we used only 1. At the end we won.
Second game: my mom and I played against each other. And at first my mom used 10 adn i used 10 and at the end just like the first game we were using 1. And it was so funny because my mom kept getting 1, and i kept getting 2, so i had to do like her. Finally, nobody won, we were both at 94!
I played two games against my mom.Initially we used tens for few rolls and then we used ones. First game I won and second we both lost.
Third game I played against the board . In just three rolls by using tens I won!

My mom and me played 2 times. The first game we lost the second game we won.
The first game I played against the board, in only 4 rolls I won. The second game I played with my mom. We had a tie because we both took 4 rolls to get to 100!
The board won the first game. They we were playing to each other, my Sister won the second game and I won the third game. We used tens at the beganing and as we came close, started using ones. The game I won I had straight 20, 60 and another 20, so in just 3 rounds I won.
I played against my brother and I won. We both used 10 first then 1 .
We were both at 98 then I rolled a 2 and Won!
Mrs Johnson,
I played with my sister once and with my dad twice.
I used the ten first and after i reached near the 80’s, i used the ones.
I won once, in 6 attempt.
I played against my sister. I won. I used tens for a few rolls, and then I had to use ones when I got the the 90’s. My sister used tens for the first few rolls also, but started to use one’s after she got to the 90’s, too. We had fun playing Double Digit Cover Up.
