During reading we have discussed visualization. What can you visualize about your novel thus far?
How would you compare a character in your current guided reading book to a character in a book you have previously read? Explain using character traits, qualities and examples to support your opinion.
What did you enjoy about your guided reading book? Would you recommend this book to another fifth grader?
What connections do you have with a character or characters in your story? Explain how you may be similar to them using details from the story and from your personal life.
What is the problem going on in your current story? How do you think that this problem will be solved? Use examples from the story to support your response.
Have you read a great book recently? Share the title, author and brief summary with your classmates. Be sure not to give too much away!

Make predictions about your story based on what you have already read or discussed within your guided reading group. Make sure to include quality work.
In our story, Miss Agnes is teaching the kids new things and the students seem to be enjoying school. What have you ever learned from an adult either in school or out of school? Explain in at least 2-4 sentences.
What are some differences between Miss Agnes’ classroom and our classroom?
You just finished your guided reading novel. Many of you enjoyed your novel, while other students did not find it to be a good fit. Write an open ended response, about liking the book or disliking the book. Be sure to use the formula; Topic, Reason 1, Reason 2, Reason 3, Personal Connection and Conclusion in your response. Edit and revise your work prior to submitting it. Be sure to read other student responses as well!
