I thought the video was good, it was scary at some times and nice. So one way they both connect is they helped jews. In Number the Stars, they helped Ellen and her family (and some other people) get on a boat to Sweden. In Miracle at Midnight, they also used boats to get jews to Sweden. They all were brave and tried to help even though they knew they could get in trouble. In Number the Stars, Lise was secretly was in the resistance, and in Miracle at Midnight, Henrik was also secretly in the resistance. Those are some of the connections, but i’m sure there is more.

I think the video “Miracle at Midnight” was inspiring and fun. It clearly described the period when the Jews were discriminated. Both stories talks about saving Jews. In Number the Stars, they hide Ellen and her family in their own household, putting their own lives in danger. The movie says that the rabbi’s family were hidden in the attic. In the movie, Ellen pretends to be Lise, a family member who died by being secretly in the resistance. Both families lied and risked their lives to save their fellow Jewish friends. In the movie, the doctor lied that the Jews were not in the household, and the Nazi soldiers almost found the family. In the book, they lied that Ellen was Lise. Finally, the last reason is that both families were brave. They risked their lives by hiding Jews and secretly participating in the resistance. I found both the book and the movie inspiring. It was a good experience reading and watching the movie and the book. ;-)

I thought the video was good. One way I could connect is that they tried to help Jews. In Number the Stars the Johansen family helped the Rosen family to escape. They hid them in the boats and took them to Sweden. The same happened in Miracle of Midnight. In Number the Stars Lises was a Resistance fighter. In Miracle of Midnight Henrick was a Resistance fighter. Here are some connections I could make.

In my opinion I thought Miracle at Midnight was interesting and I was really into the movie. Miracle at Midnight and Number the Stars can connect because they both are showing how they got the Jews to escape during the Holocaust. In Miracle at Midnight Henrick and his father were helping the Jew escape to Sweden by getting fishermen take the Jews to Sweden on their boats. In Number the Stars Annemarie’s uncle, Henrick, took Ellen and her family on a boat to Sweden. Miracle at Midnight connects to the time period we are learning about because it was during the time that Jews were being arrested and killed, also known as the Holocaust. That is how Miracle at Midnight connects to Number the Stars and the time period we are learning about.

I thought the video was exciting and at some points I was nervous. One way, is that in Number The Stars is that they were helping Jews to Sweden by using boats and it also occurred in the video Miracle At Midnight. Another way, is that that in the book the Johansen’s hid Ellen during the Holocaust and in the video the Koster’s hid the Rabbi family and some other Jews in the Holocaust. Thirdly, in the book, Lise was a resistance fighter and in the video Henrick was a resistance fighter too. This shows connections between the book and the video. Overall, I think the reading the book and watching the video was really good it has a lot of actions. I would give both of them an A+.

I think the video Miracle at Midnight was great , sad. I really liked how the boy Henrick and his father and mother and little sister all commited to save the Jews. But what I didn’t like is how the German soldiers treated the Jews like slaves for no reason and basically tried to kill every single one of the Jews. This video really reminds me of Number the Stars because the Johansens and Peter and Uncle Henrik also saved alot of Jews and Peter even sacrifised himself for millions of Jews. That is why I think the video Miracle at Midnight was great and sad.

In my opinion the video Miracle at Midnight was OUTSTANDING. I really like all of the detail that the director put into the video, I can really under stand what was happening and the director really new a lot about history! This video was really good.I can connect this video to the book Number the Stars because both the Jewish families were in danger from the German soldiers. They also both relate to each other because the hospital hid a lot of Jews and the Johansens hid Ellen and her family and god knows what could of happened to the Johansens! The book really relates to the real life events and is a very sad, true, story. I really like this video. these are some of the connections that i can make.

In my opinion I think that the movie Miracle At Midnight is a suspenseful, thrilling, and shocking movie. I think this because, when Henrik was in there house on the cost he heard the door open. I thought that it was going to be a Nazi soldier but, it was Henrik’s father. This was shocking because in that house Henrik was hiding Jews, and if it really was a soldier Henrik could have gotten arrested. This is why the movie is shocking. In the movie it shows the Nazi soldiers breaking in the Jewish Community Center. This is suspenseful because it doesn’t show what they do in the JCC (Jewish Community Center). So, the watchers don’t know if they killed anyone or why they had to break into the JCC. So, the watchers don’t know what there plan is. This is why the movie is suspenseful. The movie is thrilling because of all the twist and turns in it. Like, when we find out that Henrik is in the resistance. Also, when Henrik gets shot in the knee and we don’t know if he is dead. The movie connects to Number the Stars, because, both the movie and the book, are during the time of World War 2, and the Holocaust. Also, in the book and movie there are characters in the resistance. In Number the Stars, the character is Peter, and in the movie the character is Henrik. This is why Number the Stars and the movie are similar. This reminds me of what I am learning in Hebrew school. This is what my opinion of the movie is and how the movie connects to Number the Stars.

I think the movie “Miracle at Midnight” was excellent. The movie was very realistic and taught me a lot of things. I learned that the Nazis had a big meeting room. I also learnt that under Hitler, there were many other levels of people. It wasn’t just two levels; Hitler and the soldiers. These are just a few things I learnt from the movie. This movie is connected to the book Number The Stars. First, both these things talk about a time period during World War II. Secondly, both are historical fiction. Lastly, in both there are people in the resistance. IN the movie, Henrik is in the resistance. In Number The Stars, Peter Neilson was in the resistance. These are the reasons why the movie “Miracle at Midnight” is connected the the book Number The Stars.

In my opinion I think Miracle at Midnight was shocking, and scary. One way they both connect is that in the story and movie is that they protected the Jews. In Miracle at Midnight is that they helped the Jews get across to Sweden. In the story Number the Stars they had also helped the Jews, Ellen plus her family get across to Sweden. In both movies and books, it had took place in war.In Miracle at Midnight Henrik was Secretly in the Resistance. In Number the Stars Lise was secretly in the Resistance for the book. This is my opinion about the movie and my connections I made from both Miracle at midnight, the movie, and Number the Stars the book.

In my opinion I think the movie Miracle At Midnight was sad and shocking. One way it was sad was at the end of the movie when the mother had to go with the Nazi soldiers. Another way it was sad was when Henrik got shot in the knee i feel bad for him . one way it was shocking was when Henrik was hiding the Jews. In the book Number the Stars it talks about how Peter Neilson Lises boyfriend was hiding Ellens parents. Then another reason to go with Miracle at Midnight.when Henrik was hiding the Jews and he thought it was a Nazi soldier but it was his father. This how the movie went along with the book. ;-) :o
