I think the end of the book was the best. My favorite part was when they got ( captured ) by a truck driver. I did not really think this book looked that awesome at first when I looked at the cover, like the saying don’t judge a book by it’s cover.

I argree with mc5. Mr. Sir puts wayyyyyyyyyyyy too much pressure on the boys at Camp Green Lake. I guess he was still crabby before he got struck with the rattlesnake venom, because he quit smoking, but I do think he was a LOT more stricter (at least around Group D) after the Warden made the mark on his face. I personally think it was RUDE of Mr.Sir to not give Stanley any water! Like mc5 said, Stanley could have passed out! It was not fair of Mr. Sir to do that, especially because he was the one who carried out the complaint to the Warden. Mr.Sir should have just let that go!

I would NEVER go hitchhiking in my life. The main reason, is because you don’t know where this stranger is going to take you. How would you know if they were someone dangerous? Even if I was dying to go to that place, I would much rather wait till another time, instead of putting myself in a risky situation. After a while, I’d get over it, and be grateful of the decision I had made!

I think the ironic saying “this isn’t girl scout camp” really means that your not here to have fun you are here to dig holes an build character. I think Mr. Sir is realy hard on the kids. Especaily after the Warden strikes him with rattlesnake venom and he didn’t give Stanley water. Stanley could have passed out. Anyway, I am just glad that I am not at Camp Green Lake

i like to go to my backyard and hit like 100 wiffle balls every day. Unfortanatly, it didnt help (yet.)

No I would never go hitch hiking in my life. I would not go hitch hiking because you should never get in a car with strangers.This is why I would never go hitch hiking.

I enjoy going to soccer practice because I get to interact with my teammates who along with me share an interest of playing soccer. We do drills at practice. My team practices on Wednesday.

I like to go bowling without the bumpers, so that I can learn to throw the ball straight. I also like to do this because that way, if some days I don’t want to play without the bumpers, and I get a strike, no one can say, “That only happened because you had bumpers!” Which actually happens almost everytime I have the bumpers up. Bowling with the gutters open is fun, because A, it’s bowling! And B, it is a challenge. (especially if you are a kid, and maybe small!) Unfortunatley, when I play without bumpers, I mostly get the ball in the gutter!

I think that the kids at Camp Green Lake would be too frightened to speak up to the adults, if they said those “ironic” things. I guess they would be afraid that if they talked back to Mr. Sir or someone, they would get in trouble, and would maybe have to dig another hole, or maybe they wouldn’t get any water.
However, if a situation like that actually happened, (maybe at our school) the student should tell their parents, because one, it is rude for a teacher or paraprofessional to talk like that to a little kid, and two, that is not really the correct way to teach a child. It would not be something to hide away from a parent, or maybe even a teacher.

I would never hitch hike to get to any place. My first reason is that you are getting in a car or truck with a stranger that you know nothing about. My second reason is there are a lot of kinds of people that can mean danger to you. My last reason is you can get hurt if you do this risky thing that it is a scary thing to do that is a very very bad idea for all kinds of people.
