    I think Dolley Madison chose to save the portrait of George Washington because she must have known that Washington was a great president and burning a portrait is like burning a person . I think this was a good decision because it was saving a great piece of art & a little piece of history.

    I think Dolley Madison chose to save the famous portrait of George Washington because she new he was the father of our country. I think she made made a good choice because the painting was so important and because she otherwise would probably get in a big fight or even get shot.
