2010 Hershey Jazz Songs

Jazz Band members, what songs do you think we should play for Hershey and what order do you think we should play them in?  You can pick one song to warm up on and two songs on which we will be judged.  Give us a reason as to your selections and order of performance.

i think we should play smooth first because its most exciting
then i think we should play misty (but i don’t know why … but i don’t think we should play witchcraft.)
and lastly i think we should play southern exposure because we are the best at it

I think we should play
1. Smooth because it gets the crowd engaged.
After that we take down the intensity level
2. Witchcraft
Then we show the crowd something to remember
3. Southern Exposure

Witchcraft or Misty-nice, smooth start
Smooth-Good song, change from Witchcraft
Southern Exposure-Great song, good end to a concert

I think that we should play smooth to start off because it’s a really cool song, then misty or witchcraft as a kind of laid back middle, then southern exposure to finish it off- although smooth and southern exposure can be flipped.

I think we should start off with smooth to warm up and get the auidences attention. Then I think we should play misty because it has a lot of soft smooth things in it. To end I think we should play southern exposure because it is a good song for people to remember our band by. Plus I think it’s our best song

Witchcraft- great solo and shows of our articulation as long as we can get the beginning right
Misty- we play this song very well and it showcases our saxophones with their solos/solies
Southern Exposure- end with a very strong and exciting song to leave the judges wowed

Witchcraft, Misty, Southern Exposure  Because witchcraft kind of make the judges wake up from the long night, Misty to calm things down, and finally, Southern Exposure to kind an unexpected bang to conclude the festival.
