    Cool! First one to post :!: :!: :!: :!: :!: :!: :!: :!: :!:
I love giving book reviews, so I’ll blog here often. My first recommendation is the Warriors Series, by Erin Hunter. These books are about cats that live in a forest in groups called clans. These cats face many challenges, and not all of them are outside their border lines. The series is broken into parts, each part consisting of six books. The first part of the series follows a house cat named Rusty as he becomes part of the clans. I won’t tell you about the other three parts because that would be a spoiler! ;-) Please post if you have any questions!

I have one :?: What is the first book :?:

  3. Sophia says:

The first book is Into the Wild. It should have a picture of a bright orange tomcat.

  4. Aslesha says:

I completely agree with Sophia. WARRIORS ARE AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Seriously ask anyone who read the books.

    Hi people’s!!!
I recommened the books, Inkheart, Inkspell and Inkdeath. I know the title’s are weird. Who ever heard of a heart in a book??? (They are a series although I don’t know what do call it :!: ). I haven’t read all three I only read the first one  . Without giving too much away it is about a girl Meggie who’s dad has a special talent  (don’t want to give too much away!!! ) Oh yeah and also a man named Capricorn  (This is actually a good face thing of him because from what I remember he loves to wear red and he’s pretty mad…typical of evil people, right?? I mean like they are always mad at every little thing that happens!) really wants Meggie’s dad’s special talent… That is all I can say without giving the whole plot of the book away!!!! :x
Post any comments or questions :?: !!!

I might not be the constant reader but when I like a book, I really like it. Two books that I really like are Heat by Mike Lupica and Extra Credit by Andrew Clements. Heat is the perfect combination of sports and a real life problem. A boy and his brother are living in New York after the moved from one of the many Spanish speaking countries. They live right in the Bronx right next to the old Yankee Stadium. Michael, the younger of the two brothers, plays little league baseball. His dream is to play at Yankee Stadium. But when there is a complication with Michael’s age, and a birth certificate can’t be found, he can’t play. With the playoffs starting soon, will he be able to play? Read Heat by Mike Lupica.
The other book I that I would recommend is Extra Credit by Andrew Clements. This book might open your eyes a little wider to what is happening between the U.S.A and Afghanistan. Abby, a 5th grader, doesn’t have good enough grades to move up to the 6th grade. Her town does not have a summer school program so she will have to repeat 5th grade so, she has to do an extra credit pen pal project. Her pen pal lives in Afghanistan and she is the little sister of the smartest boy in school. Sadeed, her brother, gets tired of writing all the letters for his sister, and a then writes letter to Abby saying who he is and what he is doing. He also says that she cannot tell anyone about this letter because in his village people frown upon boys writing to girls. And that’s the least of their problems, with the war going on between us and Afghanistan the writing between Sadeed and Abby is even more risky. So what happens in these to great books? Well, I won’t tell you but you should read them.

Decided to give another review. I am addicted to the Fablehaven series by Brandon Mull. It’s about two siblings, Seth and Kendra, who goes to visit their grandparents preserve while their parents are on a cruise. They discover that the preserve, and Grandpa and Grandma Sorenson, aren’t exactly what they seem…….. Want to know what’s in the preserve? What about what the grandparents are hiding? Can’t take the suspense? Well…….READ THE BOOKS!

  8. Juli E. (Softball All The Way) says:

I totally agree with you! I won’t tell anybody who wants to know the end of the books I read, what the end is. Someone told me the end of Heat and as I read the final chapters I was going, “Why am I reading this, I know what happends.” But that shows you how good the book is, I KEPT READING.

  9. Sophia says:

I was just starting to read Inkheart! I saw the movie, and then I really wanted to read the book! :o :o :o

  10. Gopa says:

I totally agree with Nikita here. I love the Inkheart books. You’d really love them too.

  11. Gopa says:

Hey guys! I love to read and I’d like to recommend a book. Read Double Identity by Margaret Peterson Haddix. The book is about a girl named Bethany. Weird things are happening in Bethany’s family and she is suddenly dropped off at a house with her unknown aunt. She overhears her father talking about some girl named Elizabeth and Bethany is determined to find out who “Elizabeth” is. She is introduced to her cousin, Joss, and a mysterious man named Dalton Van Dyne. Worst of all, her family, including herself, finds a striking resemblence between Bethany and Elizabeth. The book has a shocking twist when Bethany finds out about an astonishing secret that has been kept from her. Read the book to find out what this secret is!!!

Feel free to post any comments or messages!   ;-)

Another book review! For those of you who enjoy more adult books, try the Wicked series by Gregory Maguire. The first book, Wicked, follows the life of Elphaba, the Wicked Witch of the West. It also shows a darker side of Oz, one that most people don’t think about. It does have mature scenes, so beware before reading! The book also requires thinking, mainly about religion, civil rights, and, most importantly where evil comes from. How do you determine someone wicked? What is wickedness? Are people born wicked, or do they have wickedness thrust upon them? (the last question is an inside joke to those who have seen the play ;-) )

  18. Sophia says:

Don’t forget Sent and Found! Those are great too!

  19. Jennifer says:

    I saw the movie Inkheart.

  30. Jooyoung says:

A series i really like is the Series of Unfortunate Events. I read the whole series, maybe even twice. It’s about this girl, Violet, her brother, Klaus, and her baby sister, Sunny. They have lost their parents in a fire accident. Then Mr.Poe takes them to people related to them at the closest distance. their first uardian is Count Olaf who later is known as a criminal along with his whole team that try to get violet and her siblings’ great fortune. Then they escape from him and every time they have a new guardian, there is always a tragedy.

  31. Aslesha says:

The fourth book is Rising Storm. I will continue naming all the books if anyone wants me to

  32. Vatsal says:

The Percy Jackson series by Rick Riordan is awesome. Especially the last book. Also the 39 clues are awesome. I read the first three books in three days.

  34. Gopa says:

Hey! Decided to recommend another book  . This book is also by Margaret Peterson Haddix   . Its called Turnabout. The book is about a group of really old (and I mean REALLY  ) people who decide to enroll in a program where they take a type of medication where they grow younger :!: Its an amazing new discovery and all the seniors are really excited about it. But at one point, if they want to stop the aging process, they can take another pill.

But the doctors and seniors soon realize that whoever takes the second pill dies. :o  :!:

One of the elder people takes the pill and literally dissolves into dust   . The people watch this shocking tragedy  and almost go insane  . Amelia and Anny Beth, who became new best friends due to the agency, both leave. The two women start to grow younger and younger until they come to a point where they are no longer adults and cannot take care of themselves. Will they commit suicide? :!: Or will they make it through? Who will help them? :???: :?:

If you like freaky sci-fi books like me  , you’ll certainly love this one. It’s my favorite book, after all!

  35. Nikita says:

Okay I have absolutely nothing to do so I will write another book review….
Hm…..what book– oh, okay so there’s this book, Minerva Clark gets a clue.
this book is about this girl named Minerva (obviously) who thinks she’s a complete failure. Her idol cousin Jordan gets arrested in the car when she takes a right turn before completely stopping. :???: I know what your thinking, “that is not a good reason to arrest someone.” :!: :?: :!: :?: :!: :?: This is exactly what Minerva was thinking.  She tries to solve the “mystery” about her cousin who got let out 3 days after. (I think) I’m sure Jackie agrees with me that this is a really good book. ;-) Okay, see you people in school tomorrow  :!: :!: :!:

  36. Victoria T. says:

I read the whole series! Well it’s only three books though. Nikita you left out the part that Minerva suffered a electric shock. Also, I recommend the Sammy Keyes series. It is another mystery for people out there! :!: :!:

  37. Aparna says:

P.s. Looking for something really challenging? Brush up on your Elizabethan and try Shakespeare! Have fun with that!

  42. Vittoria says:

    what do you mean by “Elizabethan” :?: :?: :???: :???: :???: :|
I bet shakespeare books are long   :| :!: how many days did it take you to finnish the longest book :?:

  43. Jennifer says:

The Secret Garden by Frances Hodgson Burnett
I have the book. Its good. So is Black Beauty.

  44. Jennifer says:

Commenting: Confused. wait, why did i write “I have read the books”? Oh. never mind.
ARE THERE EVEN such thing as WICKED BOOKS?

  45. Sophia says:

Elizabethan is langauge used by Shakespeare. You know thee, thy, thou? The books aren’t too long, just difficult. There are books called No Fear Shakespeare with the original text on one side, and a modern day text on the other. With one of those, I finished Midsummer’s Night Dream in 2 days.

  46. Sophia says:

Yes! why would i write a review about books that don’t exist?

  47. Nikita says:

Hey you forgot Little House In The Big Woods by Laura Ingalls Wilder, Little House On The Prairie by Laura Ingalls Wilder and Trumpet of The Swan (I think!!)

  48. Nikita says:

    Book Review time!!!!!!!!!!!!!
First, Harry Potter series. Those books are pure awesomeness. They look really fat but you’ll finish them quickly. They are really interesting and i was reading the last book literally the whole weekend nonstop (even while eating!). Seriously, anyone who hasn’t read the series really should!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!I am planning to read the series again this summer for the 3rd time!?!?!??!

  49. Nikita says:

    Another book review:
This book is called Chu Ju’s House. It is not that action packed but is very interesting. It is about a girl named Chu Ju (DUH!) who is from China (again, DUH!). IN China the laws stated that you could only have 2 children and it has been a family tradition that one of them had to be a boy. So when a girl is born to Chu Ju’s family, her family decides that the newborn must die. Chu Ju understands the baby’s fate and decides to run away. THe author Gloria Whelan, wrote really detailed sentences that let you picture the entire scene in your head. Another book she wrote was Homeless Bird. I have never read this but i thinik it is a good one!

    ANd yet another book review:
This one is going to be on these Indian books called Akbar Birbal and Tenali Raman. Shefali can help me if I leave out anything but this is the main idea in both of them. Akbar the King, runs into problems or tries to challenge BIrbal for an answer. These books are really entertaining the way Birbal solves the problem.
Tenali Raman is the same thing only the setting takes place in Southern India rather than Northern. King Krishnadeva Rayan (OR something like that.) poses questions for Tenali to answer and he does, every time no matter how hard the question is.

Okay my next review is going to be about non fiction books:
The book series is called Fiesta! and they talk about different countries and their culture, holidays, clothes etc. These books are general and are not to hard to read. I highly suggest reading them for a different type of book.

Another suggestion of mine is Kiki Strike. It is one of the challenging choice books for PATTERNS and is really intersting. It is about a girl named ummmmmm I forgot who the main character was but she was looking out her window one day and sees a big hole in the park opposite her house. Being the curious girl she is, she goes and peers in, she sees a rope attached leading down into the hole. She climbs in and later comes out with a book. If I explain it I will just give too much away so I will just copy the back of the book:
    “Five delinquent girl scouts
    One milllion hungry rats
    A secret beneath Manhattan
And a butt kicking girl superspy.”
I wrote that from memory so there might be some mistakes…
Summer is around the corner so take advantage of that time to read and read up! Let me know next year if you guys come up with any other great books!I know I willl!

P.S. Speaking of summer, are we going to continue the blog over the summer?????I sure hope we do!!!
    HAVE FUN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

;-) :| :x        :o         :???: :?: :!:
